The Lost Daughter 2021
as a woman (but not a mom) I can relate to the feeling of stolen time and productivity when you become a mother. this film brought comfort that not every woman has skills of motherhood, but there’s a strong sense of care and wisdom that is closely associated with mother’s love… anyway, I cried like a child watching this movie and my mom needs to watch it too. she’s a victim of being a mom who wasn’t prepared to be a mother and who had to give up her own path and individuality to give life to others.

i’m very attached to the feeling of the intrinsic love and connection between father and daughter. my father is my first best friend and he is present in my best memories as a child. as a grown woman I understand his pains, I respect his sadness and can feel his empathy/depression/loneliness/sensitivity running through my veins. all these blues feelings makes me his best friend too. although there’s disappointment along the discovering of his “MEN” side I remain in constant development to be his “DAUGHTER”. this film was gently, gently written. also and most importantly: being a father of a girl looks good on paul mescal.
