It’s been said to death but Gen Alpha is so fucked oh my god

The third episode is good but I actually found the finale even more poignant. The format of the series lends itself to such a fresh examination of something like this - when you’re only able to see certain perspectives or moments in time it’s harder to sensationalize.

Absolutely hopeless though. I don’t know what is going to happen with the world’s young men/boys, this definitely makes a solid case that it’s not anything good.

Watched this while Korine remixed the film live in a club-like setting. It was crazy. The music was so loud it felt live which definitely enhanced the experience as did the setting. Not sure what I’d think of this at home on a TV though.

I liked this much better than Aggro Dr1ft as it felt like a more fully realized version of the aesthetics and iconography. Great experience.

100 Movies Over Summer Break - Movie #71

Todd Solondz’s perfect indictment of a very specific and REAL type of person who just thinks the world owes them everything. I love Solondz’s way of making us hate and love the characters so much at the same time, sympathizing with the tragedy he imposes on them while forcing us to attach onto an unlikeable character.

This is a beautifully grotesque characterization of a narcissistic man child who denies his own nepotism and is constantly angry at the people around him trying to help. Solondz is a fantastic writer and director and it shines through here.

    31 Nights of Halloween - #26

Okay woah. I knew it was gonna be better. But not THIS much better. Even made me appreciate the first one more. Trades in the try-hard nihilism of the first for a cartoonish 80s Elm St sequel charm. Normally I don't love modern movies that are obsessed with being 80s movies and yeah the synth score gets annoying (it never actually sounds like it's 80s music guys I'm sorry) but it mostly works here.…
