Britain is the fucking worst.A one of a kind movie that accurately frames the political and historical context of the time, while presenting a deeply emotional narrative that encapsulates the collective trauma of the Irish people. In two hours I experienced an emotional roller coster that left me crying on the floor trying to write this review through my tears. If you watch this and aren’t effected in the slightest, I truly believe you’re heartless.

To be quite frank, I really disliked this whole thing. None of the female relationships were developed, or the individual characters for that matter. Actually, the lens in which they paint any of the woman in is misguided and hyper-sexualized to an embarrassing extent. And the androcentric angle the whole movie takes is kind of sad considering the potential this narrative had. The cast is *chefs kiss* iconic and the fashion is something out of a vision board, unfortunately that’s about all it has to offer.
