  Flat. Detached and shallow. We don’t get to learn anything substantial about Anora (a person who is successful in her own right, who is thrust into a wild world and then left behind) at all—we only see her getting yanked around and hurt without any context for who she was and what guided her actions. I am left wondering, who was that story written to amuse/connect with? People who are yanked around and hurt? I don’t think so; but…

  I think this is a really beautiful film to be suffocated by! Very easy to get and stay lost in Reynolds’s and Alma’s chaotic world. Absolutely deserving of best costume, but also the music is gorgeous.
