  if you’re gonna tell a story about imperialism/colonialism/power say something about it

  watched this in a rural church-turned-cinema, which I imagine to be wes' ideal setting for screening his movies, but not even the perfect viewing atmosphere could salvage this abomination

  wes anderson is offensive, both to the senses and the soul. not enjoying his style or schtick i'll admit is a matter of subjectivity. but it makes his stories harder to swallow, and for that i'm grateful. the french dispatch reduces truly radical historic figures and movements to a cutesy dust.…
