Okay so I wanted this to be so much better. I didn’t think Paul’s acting was that great tbh. The huge switch up also really hurt the rating here. Within 5 minutes he goes from having rage against the Roman Empire to being the it guy. Loved the progress into insanity for Caracalla though.

Not a dry eye in the theater and applause afterward. I don’t want to get too deep on this random app, but this movie made me re-realize how lucky I am to be a strong woman raised by a strong woman who knew when to leave.
Seeing Justin Baldoni play a man like this was hard after admiring the work he’s done against toxic masculinity and abuse. Everyone should go see this!
I fear I have way too many thoughts about this. I am obsessed with the way Luca flirts with sexual ambiguity in his story telling but also in symbolism. This movie was a such a stark reminder of why CMBYN is such a masterpiece especially when Luca’s talents are combined with Aciman’s similar writing style. I don’t think this movie could have been cast any more perfectly. Zendaya’s star power compared to her co-stars is in itself genius. Film score…
