Kind of amazing watching a film like this and you at some point just forget it’s animated because you’re fully invested in the world come to life before you. The animation here is beautiful, achieved with oil paint on glass it looks amazing.
This was a very sad film but an important one too. I’d recommend it.
This was a pretty easy watch, it was wholesome and funny with a bit of silliness. The animation style was really cool too. It didn’t outstay its welcome either, the story moved along at a good pace with everything having meaning. It was sweet without being sickly so I really liked it.
I went into this pretty blind. It made me laugh in a hearty way and sad in an honest sort of way. I really enjoyed every moment and the run time flew by. The animation was really well done and was smooth, you can tell there was heart and soul put into every aspect of the film.
I think it captures the humour and sadness of life over the years and sometimes it’s nice to have those balanced in a film as they enrich each other. I suppose that’s kinda how life goes.
So growing up I felt the influence of this on a bunch of shows and films but never saw it till today. This was our first screening at the film society and I feel like it was a good first pick to come in on.
I think for a film that’s 75 years old it holds up incredibly well but I guess classics are classics for a reason.
Anyway full marks and if I can take my serious hat off,…
