  Royal Tenenbaum is an absolute scoundrel and one of the worst father figures to ever grace the screen, but Gene Hackman makes him somehow a sympathetic figure. Luke Wilson is melancholy personified and I will also view Elliott Smith’s “Needle in the Hay” differently now. 8.5/10

  Laura Palmer is a tragic tale it’s a shame that was her life. Watching this knowing what I know from the show made it all the more terrifying. David Lynch is in prime shape and sure can make some scary shit. 8.5/10

  A sweeping gangster epic that stands with the greatest gangster films ever made (Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Scarface, etc.). Despite being close to 4 hours long, this is a great watch due to the acting, set pieces, the score, and a complicated story with varying interpretations.
  Aside from two abhorrent scenes of violence (you know what I’m talking about) there are few complaints. Really interesting to see James Woods act circles around De Niro, although I feel like Max’s dive into…
