Maybe not Adam Sandler’s funniest or best movie, but it’s certainly the Sandler movie with the most heart.

Sandler and Drew Barrymore’s incredible chemistry is like watching the Curry/Durant late-2010s Warriors. Add in Sandler’s musical chops (“Put a Bullet in My Head” is laugh out loud funny & “Grow Old With You” is undeniably sweet) with the 80s setting/soundtrack and you get a film that’s a cut above similar comedies of its era.

In Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore, Sandler is…

One of the greatest movies of all-time. From the acting, to the script, to how it’s shot and edited. But having seen the movie for the umpteenth time, I realized I have one beef with it: the movie is too good.

It’s got incredible scenes one after the other but they all seem more like vignettes than a structural narrative. The overarching plot of the story seems to be sacrificed for the quality of the great scenes seemingly back-to-back. It’s the smallest nitpick and even then, it doesn’t even make the movie worse

    Wtf was that?

A suspenseful, funny, surreal horror movie that completely subverts the expectations of the genre. Right when you think you know what’s gonna happen next, you are picked up and placed in a completely different movie. Keeps you guessing and keeps you on the edge of your seat. And particularly horrifying if you’re lactose intolerant.

Not a fan of historical fiction but it’s a sweet and charming, albeit fanciful love story with two leads you really root for.

Plot holes aplenty (Why did Rose throw it into the ocean at the end? Why is Rose so sprung off a dude she’s known for four days? Why couldn’t she just make room for Jack on the door?) and the movie is way too long, but James Cameron undertook an ambitious endeavor and made a really popular and REALLY profitable movie that dominated the zeitgeist when it was released. And you can see why when you watch it.
