Living 2022
The first ~20 minutes is exceptionally well done. Beautiful camera work, visual storytelling, and the right amount of quirk. Everything after that is increasingly underwhelming.
The main issue — the writers maybe assumed that retelling portions of the protagonists accomplishments after the sudden change would communicate the degree of reverence bestowed to him at the end, but it does not. The high praise feels strange, confusing, and idalotrous.
My recommendation: watch the first twenty or so minutes, but when the old man leaves the office, turn the TV off.

A solid 4.25/5, but I'm biased so I'll round it up.
If you grew up reading the comics, you'll obviously love it. If you don't know about the comics, I optionally recommend reading a few before giving this a watch. I was skeptical about the non-2D animation, but it's superbly done! And the goofiness of the original characters are well preserved in the movie rendition 🦜
