  Very unfortunate that this film has been reduced to the posterchild of “The Most Banned Anime” discussions by people online. It is a beautiful yet grotesque display with nothing but passion in its creation. Truly deserves a much better fate than the one it was dealt.

  Recently I have found myself falling asleep to this movie. I first watched it years ago by this point and even without my rewatch still considered it my favorite film. Usually I start to doze off by the time Betty arrives in Hollywood. Tonight when I decided to put it on as I tried to lull myself back to sleep after being woken up by usual anxieties I couldn't help but stay awake and watch.
