Interesting to see thriller meet romance, but it’s even more confusing to watch because I can’t seem to understand what I am watching. Even stranger is the fact that the entire story is based on this one shot; the love interest getting hit by multiple cars at the beginning. For some reason it happens to be the only occurring slap stick. This level of humor never returns and the humor that does occur is overshadowed by this intense drama created…

The Holdovers 2023
Favourite Christmas movie ever now, or just ever. It got me laughing out loud, which honestly happens rarily. Might also be what got me feeling giddy even through my almost 40 hour awake jet lag, which usually looks like me crying over every little sidewalk plant.
BTW one of the best soundtracls I've heard yet.

The Zone of Interest 2023
The point of focus in The Zone of Interest is mostly reduced to background noise. Absence of favor of perspective or else is (to me) the best way to portray war. The film did perfectly well on that part but there is a difference between silence speaking volumes and simply presenting very little to nothing.
