Woman of the Hour 2023
I love that you can tell this was directed by a women. It was subtle and nuanced. The actor playing Alcala didn’t have to overact to portray himself as dangerous or sinister. This film did a beautiful job of capturing a woman in fear. It felt choppy at times which knocked some point off for me. The flow could have been better. Overall, it was a well done film. Worth the watch!

I really wanted to love this movie but I can’t say that I did… the aesthetics and score were nice but the plot was really weird. I felt icky watching it the whole time, and not in the “this is a cool dark movie” way. I don’t fully understand it, but it was worth the watch. The ending was satisfying! Didn’t love it, but didn’t hate it. It gets a 3 instead of a 2.5 for the iconic 90s vibes and cast.
