probably the saddest horror film i’ve ever seen. so brutal, so difficult to watch. seeing laura alive in her last days after only hearing others talk about her and what she was like was so personal to see. sheryl lee gives such an intense and heartbreaking performance. made me want to scream at moments and cry at others. i can understand the backlash this film got and that it isn’t for everyone but i personally thought it was very well…

my thoughts while i’m laying awake at 3 am:

“First of all, Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette. Gargamel did. She was sent in as Gargamel's evil spy with the intention of destroying the Smurf village. But the overwhelming goodness of the Smurf way of life transformed her. And as for the whole gang-bang scenario - It just couldn't happen. Smurfs are asexual. They don't even have reproductive organs under those little white pants. That's what's so illogical, you know, about being a Smurf.”

    It's a strange world, isn't it?

yesss thank you lynch, this is a whole masterpiece. so much to uncover so many themes, messages and symbolism going on underneath the surface. (innocence, darkness vs light, the robins, the colors, the music, etc.) the characters were so intriguing and it wasn’t as much about the overall mystery as it was spending time with the characters and diving into their psyche. the world that lynch portrays is so seductive, beautiful, and horrifying all at once. i think isabella rosellini’s performance was complex and outstanding; so raw, so vulnerable and so brave.

Steven Murphy : “So what do you suggest? Tell me. Oh wait, I know. I've got it. There's a way we can put a stop to all of this. All we need to do is find the tooth of a baby crocodile, the blood of a pigeon and the pubes of a virgin. And then we just have to…

this was so ridiculous & fun i rlly enjoyed how over dramatic it was; the sound effects, the running all around, the countless screams, and honestly this film was rlly funny. full of weird crazy plot twists and alternate endings. i think it would be fun if they did a remake, knives out is my fave “who done it” film but something else based on the board game i would definitely see!
