Usually I write silly reviews, but I feel like this movie needs a serious one. I went into this with little information or expectations, and I was completely moved and crying by the end. Although I’m not from Poland, I am Jewish and have family that went through similar circumstances as the family in the movie. The depiction of mental health and generational guilt and trauma was so incredible. I felt so seen and represented. overall, the movie was beautifully written, shot, acted, and directed. Love that it was short too! definitely going on my thought daughter comfort movie list!

La La Land 2016
This has been my favorite movie since it came out in 2016 (where at the time I was only 10 and had no awareness of the nuances in this movie beyond OOOOH PRETTY COLORS AND SINGING) and it has remained a daily topic for me. This movie makes me laugh, cry, and cry some more when I realize Ryan gosling is too old and too famous for me. 10/10 this movie is amazing and I make every person I know watch this movie before becoming my friend.
