Kind of like Synecdoche, New York in that it’s a well-crafted and well-acted movie with a lot to say about the world that I’d actively recommend not watching to avoid the psychological damage of the whole experience. I’m also realizing now that this movie is essentially a play and that movie is about the production of a play… theater kids are not alright.
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I want to remember my thoughts on this one so I can see how they change once I’ve seen the full trilogy.
The performance from Juliette Binoche was more than enough to make Julie’s grief real, I was increasingly feeling a numb depression as the film continued to deal her blow after devastating blow.
