Heartbreaking that the US peace corp actually sterilized women without consent by giving false hope to the people that they were helping with the fertility issue. The representation of inhumane treatment and unfair living conditions some had to undergo is well done. It is apparent the political and social issues happening at the time and how they were implemented into the Third Cinema era.
The scene where Sixto is battling the morality and need to steal to save his brothers life is a powerful representation of one’s situation and the point in which one is willing to throw away their morals to help those they love.
