I don't think anyone needs me to tell them how good this movie is. Everyone in this movie was amazing. Costumes were fantastic.
Obviously, it is quite white saviour-y but it was written by a white woman so I don't know what we all expected.
Jessica Chastain is an angel and her portrayal of Celia Foote was phenomenal.

Now, did this movie make sense? No. But did i enjoy it? Yes.
The first two thirds were really good. Then the scene where Curtis is talking about how they ate babies happened and they lost me for a bit. It simply makes no sense. If they had no other food they would have already died before they started eating each other. Also why was he so grossed out about the bugs earlier if he'd literally eaten people before?

I went into this not really knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Sophie Thatcher was so so good. Visually great film, especially in the scenes in the woods, and a really good soundtrack.
The very end part felt a bit rushed but I'm also glad the movie wasn't 2 hours long.
Thoroughly recommend this even if you're not a horror fan (I am a wimp) but don't go see it at the cinema because they will show scary trailers beforehand.Translated from by
