The Departed 2006
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A movie where everyone’s either a rat, a cop, or a fucking corpse, usually in that order. and with those Boston accents, ‘pahk the cah’ is a eulogy, ‘I’m not a cop’ is a death sentence, and the only thing dropping faster than the R’s is the body count.
And half the time I couldn’t tell if they were saying ‘rat’ or just aggressively clearing their throat.
By 3rd Act, the cast list is just a fuckin obituary, cause Scorsese heard “ensemble” and said, Nah, Maybe. Maybe Not. Maybe Fuck yourself, let’s make it a coffin catalog.
That elevator scene? The only time “going down” means straight to the afterlife.Translated from by -

The Iron Claw 2023
Film is a funeral for the family myth. The film doesn’t dramatize tragedy, it dissects the rot of conditional love. Fathers demand legacies; sons bury theirs in silence. Wrestling is just the ring; the real fight is surviving the suffocating grip of "making them proud."
Efron’s final scene? A howl swallowed by the void. Devastating because it’s true: bones break long before spirits do.
A masterpiece of quiet annihilation.Translated from by
