i think i had high expectations for this movie but it was not nearly as riveting as i thought it’d be … lowk whoever made the trailer ate that up bc it looked five times better in that. the jumping across time was kinda just chaotic and honestly i never was really that invested. really inspiring concept and i LOVEE andrew garfield & florence pugh but this just did not do it for me

a little too chaotic and anxiety inducing for me to fully enjoy it… but such an artfully crafted movie. like that last scene was so up for interpretation - i thought she was testing him, then crying when he kinda went along and basically proved her right (the rapist thing, that he liked her maybe just bc physical attraction), but the alternate interpretations make me appreciate how ambiguous and emotional that ending was

this movie was just so terribly heartbreaking… the only thing that stopped me from actually shielding my eyes and bursting out in tears was how adorbs baby jaden smith was (peak toddler years and peak muffin status). anyways can’t believe this was based on a true story that level of poverty and desperation is actually so so terrible
