With its flashbacks to our own (pre-)teenage and “first love” years, Paradise: Hope somewhat also has its own embarrasing moments, slapstick and drama but unfortunately can't keep up with the other two masterpieces of the series.

Paradise: Faith 2012
No one can pack these ambivalences of drama, absurdity, violence and slapstick into a story as well as Ulrich Seidl. Every door that Anna Maria knocks on is like a grab bag of what eccentric character and/or dramatic fate awaits us when it opens, while she struggles with her inner and outer demons herself.

I Am Not a Witch 2017
"You're really lucky, you have a long ribbon. You're free to go this way and that, you can go here and there with your long ribbon. You're lucky."
That hit me really hard.
An insanely aesthetic dramedy that serves you your privileges on a silver platter.

The Devil's Bath 2024
What I learned from this movie: Some things never change, e.g., know-it-all mothers-in-law or certain (patriarchal, religious) stereotypes. Having your period at that time: Next level. Be thankful for your soft, warm bed.
A visually and acoustically powerful, unsparing, and dramatic masterpiece.
