Compelling film adaptation of the 2017 YA novel by John Green by the same name, it features stylistic music choices, sound design that grabs you in, and a story that shows a debilitating disorder that hasn’t previously been shown as that but as the butt of jokes. The OCD obsessions and compulsions are shown in an interesting yet vulnerable realistic way. What we think is the plot isn’t and the story wraps up nicely to a message that is hopeful yet not sugar coated.
