August: Osage County 2013
I watched this film as part of my social intervention course focusing on families, and it’s truly a gem for illustrating various social issues such as substance abuse, intergenerational trauma, family secrets, incest, and toxic family dynamics. It also does an excellent job of reflecting sibling order theories and their connection to psychology. Barbara, the eldest sister, embodies the responsible figure, the one who keeps a cool head and dares to confront their mother, almost taking on a parental role.…

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 2024
The movie is incredibly entertaining to watch, I laughed so much thanks to the characters Eggman and the grandfather. Their scenes, especially when they were dancing, were absolutely hilarious!
Even though I’m not very familiar with the Sonic video games, this movie made me want to give them a try. Truly a great film!

Green Book 2018
I watched Green Book on Christmas Day, and it left a lasting impression on me. The story is both melancholic and deeply moving. Tony’s journey of personal growth is truly remarkable. He starts off with ingrained prejudices, but over time, as he spends meaningful moments with Dr. Shirley, he begins to see past those biases. By the end, he not only defends him but also values their bond. It’s a powerful reminder that when we take the time to step onto someone else’s lawn, so to speak, we realize we’re all fundamentally the same—just fellow human beings, Homo sapiens, navigating life together.

Les points forts de ce film sont les personnages intéressants puis les moments drôles et cocasses du film.
Toutefois, le scénario est très malaisant. La personnage principale est égocentrique et manipulatrice ; les mensonges allaient trop loin au point de me faire sentir mal. Les films de Noël sont habituellement réconfortants, même avec la présence de péripéties et de problèmes.
