I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! And I have a lot of thoughts!!
There is definitely a level of manufactured camp here that doesn’t always hit the mark, as opposed to the scenes that are meant to be more genuine that do come off very camp. The set design and colors were pretty great, though some moments felt sort of anachronistic, but there’s a great blending of 80s aesthetics with modern sensibilities.

10/10 adaptation, the director really understood the message and themes of Look Back and was so faithful with its recreation of the story. And the style allowing all the little mistakes and trials and errors of the artists to show through was brilliant. So so happy I got to see this in theaters and I really hope Goodbye, Eri gets an adaptation next

I remember reading this comic back in 2016 and I’ve been following ND Stevenson’s journey as a storyteller ever since. It was so awesome to see this on screen and to see ND’s genderqueerness and transness shine through in this adaptation. Fucking metal
