the plot it's exactly the same as the first film, destroying the first film's ending, with the death of Commodus in the previous film, it is assumed that the republic was established, but the scriptwriters decided to ignore this fact, establishing the empire again... How? I don't know, they don't explain it to you, they just ignore this fact as it never happened, so actually Maximus died senseless. Nothing about the story makes sense, and, luckily, I will not mention the historiographic aspects of the film as they are the most creative invention i've ever seen, a poor representation of what the roman empire was.

i actually liked the movie, im a huge fan of the videogames and i studied the whole lore a lot, i know the scenes when the animatronics play with the child and start acting like "the power of friendship" are really cringy, but the animatronics are just children and kids can be playful or cruel, we see both sides. And they adapted really well the lore, it's really difficult adapt a videogame with first-person gameplay to a movie, imagine if they did the whole five nights until 6 am, it would be boring. Btw I loved the violent cupcake.
