This was definitely an Eggers film. It was so artfully shot & so dark (visually) that I’m extra glad I saw it in theaters without light pollution. Certifiably strange, but also very much what I expected it to be. I enjoyed the experience accompanied by what may have been the world’s strongest dirty martini. In retrospect, a Negroni or an old fashioned would have been a better pick.

I’m floored by how real this felt. Love, family, & history is so complicated. I delight in opportunities to marvel at films that are able to capture that without forcing it or becoming preach-y or saccharine. This was one of those films. An absolutely stunning and moving display from start to finish.

    This was a MOVIE!

I don’t know if my enjoyment of twisterSSSSS was primarily of its own merit or because it was a fun bar exam study break with my budz, but this movie really delivered everything I’d want out of a summer blockbuster. EXCEPT for the kiss, sorry, but that cut was criminal.

    Glen Powell summer fr.

the curse of living in the shadow of potential, when it’s not always even *your* potential. the devastation of getting what you want, but never really in the *way* you wanted. the tension of being so close you can *almost* taste it.

sweet, sour, and very, very salty.
