Shin Godzilla 2016
What a FASCINATING movie. Not only going back to the basics of the Godzilla story with a modern twist, but seeing the full gambit of protocol and procedures on how to deal with this thing is so unbelievably cool. The way the human side of this story plays out, on paper, should be incredibly boring but it's far from that. It's just fascinating all of the bureaucratical elements of how to handle this other worldly being as a natural disaster is just so fascinating to me. One of the best horror monster movies I've ever seen. I was gripped to the screen the whole time.

What a fun interpretation of the character. I find Guy Ritchie's style of directing and editing work very well with the kind of mystery on display. I really like the presentation of Victorian Era London as well. My only gripe with the movie is the focus on character drama between the key investigation of the mystery. Not that it's bad, but I did find it to hurt the overall pacing. Great movie otherwise.
