I'm not sure if it is physically possible for me to dislike a Wes Anderson creation. I'm immediately transported into a different world laced with nostalgia, emotional anticipation, and whimsical aesthetics.
I enjoy this film because the dialogue was so poignant and nothing was over explained. Or explained at all really, it was a very visual experience that wrapped the innocence of youth in the entanglements of emotionally immature adults. The girl is a lot like a young Margot Tenenbaum…
Super fun animated movie with a lot of high school hijinks and empathy! I enjoyed the supernatural spin on it & laughed almost the entire time. I have seen it 4-5 times at least because I had it on my computer with a select list of films I watched on repeat. Family friendly and full of Easter eggs to talk about creating space for each other to be different.
This movie blew me out of the water and has so many funny twists and turns. If you like Ali Wong's comedy, then no doubt you will enjoy this film. Prepare to laugh and laugh some more!
Ali Wong acts like a pro and is able to connect with her candid sense of humor and ability to dodge affirmations. Seeing a mostly Asian American cast has been truly a remarkable experience for me. There are easter eggs throughout that I don't want to ruin, so pls watch!
A treasure from my childhood that I revisit regularly as an adult! I love it so much and alternate between the original Japanese voice actors and the English ones (the Fanning sisters do a great job). A lifelong favorite!
