Watched this out of curiousity because it won best picture, I have to say it did not in my opinion do justice on humanizing sexworkers. I feel like I did not know much about Anora outside of her work and what the men in her life wanted from her, we just spend the whole film following around her loser fiancé. As well as the only male character who respected her ultimately sleeping with her, it felt like a very disappointing conclusion.

Good movie? no :(This really didn’t need to be a musical… the overall story was compelling and some of the actors chewed a bit but not worth the two hours i spent watching it 😭 also why could no one sing in a movie MUSICAL????

whew…. watched this movie in theaters with my coworkers after work and it felt like i had picked up another shift by the end of it. it was way too long with cheesy dialogue we couldn’t help but laugh on our way out. the older crowd seemed to enjoy it so maybe if you’re 50+ it’s worth the watch.
