  Absolutely butchered the original book with the weird broken nuclear family, rancid alien designs and the personality-less main character. No really, he had the spice of an unboiled spaghetti noodle. The sound effects and tripod designs were cool as hell, though.
  It was vastly improved by Tainted Love playing softly in the background, thank you Kiwi.
