  apparently this was the film debut of Varney's Ernest character. it's elaborately bad. transcendentally rococo awful. that's precisely why i watched it and precisely why i liked it. it also sent me down a youtube rabbit hole of Varney's vast TV commercial spokesman oeuvre. the man was such a joyful ball of talent and goofiness. watch if you're feeling kitschy
