  Classic film noir. I’ve always had a soft spot for femme fatales, and Jane Greer plays this Femme Fatale (with capital Fs) to perfection. There are also private eyes, fedoras, trench coats, and chiaroscuro for days.

  And let’s not forget Roger Ebert’s review: “There were guns in Out of the Past, but the real hostility came when Robert Mitchum and Kirk Douglas smoked at each other.”

  Fantastic historical movie! Stephen and Mr Blakeney might be two of my favorite characters in existence
