  I read a ton of letterbox reviews and basically spoiled the majority of the film for myself because the trailer unnerved me so badly

  even though I knew so many of the plot points of the film, I still was so shaken by it all, especially the final scene 🐦

  this film reminds me that we can have soulmates that are only connected to our demise and it’s sometimes extremely hard to tell the difference in a really strong connection…

  fairly certain i watched this stoned with a bestie, my bf at the time, this bartender we became friends with and his girlfriend. they fed us an adult dinner and got us dangerously stoned and then we sat through this together. i knew better russian then and understood the culture specifically in the time period the film was shot but it bored and agitated me, surprisingly. 

  watching again right now and appreciating the fuck out of its beauty. i saw a ‘haunted film sets’ episode about it and in 13 years older so i think i can finally appreciate it
