Look, the Halloween IP has been mishandled many many times before, like a shitload of other, if not most, horror franchises at this point. But the majority of that stuff were these disposable/forgettable sequels, and those couple Rob Zombie re-imaginings.
This is different. This thinks it’s saying something, or wants to pretend like it’s audience thinks it’s saying something. And it says it over and over again in the most idiotic ways, often directly through dialogue. Legacy characters, constant self-conscious…
