Tourist Trap 1979
A so-so story saved by the competent performances of the cast, except for Conners. His old school approach didn’t really work for me. The way the mannequins mouths popped open was effectively creepy. The revelation of the antagonists identity is highly predictable and there is no explanation of why he has his ability. Take it or leave it.

Old Chief Wood’nhead: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
George Kennedy’s old man charm is off the charts. This supernatural tale of revenge is fine and enjoyable.

The Hitch-hiker: ⭐️⭐️
They definitely didn’t save the best one for last. Good premise; poor execution.

The Gate 1987
Man, I love this film. The story was good enough to keep me interested until the little guys showed up and then, well, all hell breaks loose! I know…that was bad. The little demons were magnificently realized with stop motion and some forced perspective with men in rubber suits. The way they move around is hilarious! Actually, all of the visuals were great, from the dead guy to the tornado wind tunnel thing to the big demon lord. There were…
