"But there are still the hours, aren't there?"
One of my favorite adaptations and a deeply personal interpretation of a fantastic novel. The performances are pristine, with each storyline backed by an immensely talented cast. The movie is anchored by the three performances - Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore - and they all lend a uniquely devastating angle to their characters. A gut wrenching score that suits the book just as well as the film. The Hours is an emotional experience, both haunting and strangely comforting in itself reminiscent of Virginia Woolf's own work.
