The Accountant 2016
A bit goofy, but I still liked the first half. Second half was chock full of exposition and just kept trying to layer the story in ways that weren’t needed. Affleck isn’t perfect, but does well with an ambitious role.

I like movies that have dislikable protagonists, so I was in for 10-15 minutes. Then the film abandons plot, setting, character, emotion, purpose, story, cinematography, and, worst of all, justification for the camera (which isn’t a dash cam). I’m just not sure this is a movie. I mean there are moving images, but you can’t seen them and you certainly don’t want to. Events take place, but you don’t know what they are and they are meaningless. In some ways…

Ne Zha 2019
For what it is, it looks pretty good. More or less in it for the first half, but I lost interest over time. Very concerned about the runtime of the sequel because this is messy and drags quite a bit. Hard to be invested when things just get explained/made up on the fly to try to keep the plot moving.

Between 3 and 3.5. Not as polished as its predecessor, but Bullet Plane does have Josh Hartnett, so that’s enjoyable enough for me.
