  really wonderful IFF boston screening @ the sommerville theater (where parts of the film were shot) it was really meta watching the characters sitting in the same seats as myself….wow. just a very earnest and heartfelt film with picture perfect 70’s production design and amazing prop masters. 

  
  there’s this lingering concept of shared loneliness and personal dissatisfaction, how it’s a sacred bond that bridges gaps between unlikely individuals—and paul giamatti sells it. ALSO, a wonderful q&a with the magnetic director, alexander payne, after the showing!! loved hearing cheers from the boston crew members in the crowd :,) boston film forever🤎

  the music, the cinematography, the acting, the directing, the homoeroticism, the dommy mommy vibes…this is the perfect film. all films should be like this one, specifically. i have not had this much fun at a movie in a LONG time. like truly, this movie was arousing—not even sexually (maybe a little bit)—but cinematically and intellectually. 

  luca guadagnino, god bless you for making this aphrodisiac of a film. i see you for the horny man you are and i respect it🙏🏻
