A visual spectacle with the most photorealistic VFX I've ever seen, and that's about it....? No seriously. There was so much to love about this world, not to mention some of the coolest and most inventive pieces of technology (crab bots!?) but apart from that, narratively, there was zero world building or characterization which is what I was looking for. Each character was making the same mistake over and over and over again and even admit to it on some…

In this film every frame is a painting, beautifully shot and acted. This is an exercise in restrain with dialogues and music sparingly but effectively used. They chose an ending of poets, not lovers.

    A near perfect film.

It's just so mundane, but in a good way. All the office antics were comically accurate

Gimme more of these 93 minute 7/10 movies with no fucking fat on them that just get to the point while having really tasty dialogue and performances.

I love how the film ends the nanosecond it’s said everything it wants to.

One of those movies where I just shut off my film analysis brain and just have fun. Not as strong as the first installment but enjoyable nonetheless. I believe the beauty in these films lie in the "ah-ha" moments where everything starts to click and all the pieces, whether in the form of dialogue or character actions, come together (sometimes literally) and everything starts to make "sense". This happens in the second act and that's where it really shined for me. The beginning and ending didn't seem as well fleshed out and could've used a touch up in my opinion.

This film starts out as a mix between Succession and The White Lotus, two of my favorite shows of the last 10 years. At least in the first hour. Without spoiling anything it takes quite a turn in tone (set by that unforgettable captain's dinner scene) and becomes something entirely different, both for good and for bad. Nothing grips me more in a film than good dialogue and I believe this film really excelled at that. Don't think I'll forget this movie for a bit and that's all I can ask for.
