It's fascinating how the director highlights the absurdity of the lives of the wealthy. However, she can't entirely avoid falling into clichés, as she draws heavily on the extravagant lifestyle of a "crazy" French dynasty for inspiration. In this sense, The Favourite and Saltburn seem quite similar in their storytelling approach.

12 Angry Men 1957
Definitely one of the greatest movies of all time. It’s hard not to be impressed by the director, the script, and the actors, especially considering the era in which the movie was made.
An absolute chef-d'œuvre, featuring 12 angry men debating a case while, over the course of 1h30, they subtly nod to American democracy and the justice system. No need to mention the virility and the father/man role in a context where American patriarchy and the generational divide are present. Such a brilliant mise en scène, not only cinematically but also politically.
