Michael Aloyan is one of the most promising Armenian filmmakers working today.
I hope to see a feature-length work from him soon.
This worked for me as an incredibly emotional allegory for the diasporan experience. Forced to view everything from a cramped, dreary room far away. Voyeuristically looking through a windowsill or a FaceTime call. Always the empty seat at the dinner table. Trying to find some way to vicariously experience the warmth and intimacy of the Armenian experience but ultimately only able to emulate what is just out of reach.
Brilliant filmmaking

Baker refuses to take the easy way out. He rejects the shallow cliches and predictable beats and in doing so creates one of the finest films of the decade
I do need a Toros and Garnik spinoff though
