Centring on the genocide of the Selk’nam indigenous peoples of (now) Chile, this film is an incredibly powerful and dark story of the birth of a nation, the horrors of European colonialism, and its lasting impact on indigenous communities. The film displays the absolute worst aspects of humanity. However, the gruesomeness of the film is contrasted with absolutely incredible cinematography, with beautiful landscapes of Patagonia and Tierra Del Fuego being captured in a kind of ‘Western’ style.

A tasteful remake of a classic. But then again maybe I’m just a sucker for the early 2000’s nostalgia
Entertainment factor was great. Great film to go see in the cinema. Pacing was a bit off - more development needed in some areas, and less in others. Sad to see Austin Butler get the Snoke treatment
