  ummmm lots of thoughts about this one. my film theory professor was talking about how sean baker makes movies about “politicized” subjects like sex workers for example but is more interested in exploring his characters than any greater exploration of who his subjects are. he makes social movies but really gives no substantial social commentary. and uhhh idk i think that’s why this movie didn’t work for me the way it did for others. i wanted something from this movie that i was never gonna get with baker.
