    “Please I’m a star! 😩”

    Loved the themes addressed in this movie, but it’s execution could’ve been cleaner. Transitions felt iMovie-esque at times and the complete disregard of actual science did piss me off. Most unrealistic part being Sue’s superhuman strength of course. Despite this, some of the visual shots were very satisfying and I really enjoyed the cyclical ending.

    Kudos to Martin McDonagh for such a brilliantly written and directed film. The bitter hatred between two once life-long friends for a undefined and petty reason whilst being set during the time of the Irish Civil War is a genius jab at the futility of conflict. The conflict between two friends reflects the bigger conflict of war happening around them.

    In both the bigger and smaller relations, neither side really knows why they are fighting. Deep down they still care…

    The central theme follows the age-long question of “What separates man from machine?” And whether consciousness can be artificially manufactured. The whole film premise is disturbing at its core. The uncanny valley created due to the accuracy in detail of the robots makes one feel frightened yet intrigued, somewhat in awe.

    The ending leaves one with an uncomfortable feeling of incompleteness. Many questions are created and left unanswered as the audience remains pondering the possible futures to the plot. Additionally, morality…
