A Real Pain 2024
Short and sweet but gave everything it needed to give to leave an impact and keep you thinking when it ended. I feel like this film embodies what it means when we talk about how humans are so complex yet so simple at the same time, and how our perception of others is so heavily tied to our perception of ourselves. These exact self-critical tendencies are what allow us to see and appreciate the qualities in others that we wish we could be, and this mutual exchange is what makes friendship and human connection so powerful.
