  i mean the colours are nice...? I really do not find much to appreciate in Brakhage's work because while there are some nice/pretty/interesting shots in SOME of his films, there is no time to appreciate them. "oh lauren maybe thats the point" well maybe I'm tired. have we ever considered that.

  maybe just don’t make it into a musical if literally nobody can sing

  that’s not this films biggest crime whatsoever, but it’s the one I feel most qualified to speak on. although I’m not as familiar with the culture of the groups represented, you can just feel how inauthentic it is - from the people represented to the musical genre itself.

  edit: just found out that they used ai to enhance Karla Sofia Gascon’s singing voice. what a mess.
