I like this movie. However, I find myself conflicted—I found that this film followed the most uninteresting parts of Bernstein’s life—his romances behind the scenes, his anguishes as a troubled artist under the limelight of worldwide fame. I found myself wanting more about Bernstein as a composer. As a conductor whose accomplishments dot the hallmarks of music history.
