some of the most beautiful visuals i’ve ever seen in an animated movie, adored the homage to miyazaki’s laputan bots, and the movie’s willingness to approach death as a facet of life rather than some abject out-of-sight horror was genuinely refreshing for a children’s movie. also lowkey felt like an immigrant parent story? which was pretty cool i suppose.
i do really wish the fox could’ve been not so off-brand zootopia-coded, considering it didn’t really work at all in this…

a lot of the ballet stuff wasnt really accurate but its whatever really. natalie portmans acting was pretty phenomenal, and i was a big fan of the cinematography.
