  Watch it twice if you’re unsure how you feel or don’t think you enjoyed it. I enjoyed my first viewing but didn’t know what mindset to go in with. When you understand it’s meant to simply introduce you to the universe, it’s perfect. It gives you a complete arc but gives you major reasons to see the second film, it’s a perfect Part One.

  Starts off as a really unique and interesting film, but then turns into a corny slasher in the last act. I think people love it for what it aspired to be, not what it actually is.

  
  And the message of the movie doesn’t seem to be more sophisticated or nuanced than “black people should be scared of white people.”

  
  Somehow this is not considered regressive.
