Firstly, the film is absolutely spellbinding whether you’re making perfect sense of the goings on or not.

Watched it this evening in the Light House cinema in Dublin with a few friends, while trying and only partially succeeding to map my own theories since last time I watched it onto the plot. Kinda thought I had it too, despite a few loose ends.

Discussing it afterwards though, and I think my friend’s understanding of it far outstrips my own. And I’m looking forward to my next viewing.

Wow, what a show. Only four parts, finished it a couple of nights ago and was still lying in bed last night thinking about it.

Careful going in, the story centres around the aftermath of a child’s murder by their classmate and the psychology and motivations of the perpetrator. From the writer of the ‘This is England’ series (Jack Thorne).

Incredibly well written and executed, but yeah. It will stick with you.

The Star Trek fan in me stormed out in disgust about 5 minutes into this generic sci-fi action slop. But the generic sci-fi action slop enjoyer in me stuck around and had an okay time!

*Really* feels like a reworked series pilot, though. Lots of elaborate setups for characters that don't really pay off. I'm sure they each would have had their episode of exposition later in the season.

Not at all what I'd hope for from a "Star Trek", but not as awful or offensive as this Trekie was expecting.

    I mean it ain't Casablanca...

Straight people relationships just be like that though I guess.

Really good film. Every performance is great, every character the absolute star of their own private story that I’d happily pay to see more of.
